Paul Ryan tells ABC that he and House Republicans are working feverishly to, um, stop spending cuts from taking effect…
This Week February 17.
Remember when we used to be for spending cuts and reducing the size of government? That is sooo a few months ago.
When did cutting 2% of a $3.6 trillion abomination of a budget become a bad thing?
- Solyndra alone cost taxpayers $535 million
- Government spends $1,191,200 for 2 pounds of frozen ham
I know what you’re thinking: “But what about the military cuts! We will have to dissemble our aircraft carrier fleet and surrender to China!”
That’s right. We might actually have to close our bases in Germany and South Korea. God forbid.
Even Paul Ryan agrees with me. I mean, before he betrayed his conservative principles…
What conservatives like me have been fighting for, for years, are statutory caps on spending, legal caps in law that says government agencies cannot spend over a set amount of money.
And if they breach that amount across the board, sequester comes in to cut that spending, and you can’t turn that off without a super-majority vote. We got that in law.
The Sequester amounts to a 2% cut out of the $3.6 trillion abomination that is the federal budget. We shouldn’t be opposing the Sequester, we should be proposing 10 sequesters.
