Hoping to emulate the success of The Five, MSNBC replaced the ratings repellent known as Dylan Ratigan with The Cycle.

They copied everything– the format, the multiple hosts, the flashy graphics…but there is one crucial difference:

The Five is four sane people vs. Bob Beckel. It’s comforting because it’s like a family gathering with Bob Beckel as “the crazy uncle”.

The Cycle is S.E. Cupp vs. four vicious, liberal hyenas constantly shouting over her. Instead of evoking memories of family gatherings, it’s more like a involuntary visit to Bill Ayers’ house, or some socialist liberal commune circa 1967. It’s not fun! Nobody wants to wants to be subjected to such hostility.
