The video, created by Jeunes Populaires, the youth wing of Mr Sarkozy’s UMP party, shows various cabinet colleagues trying – and often excruciatingly failing – to sing and dance to a re-mix of the 1976 French pop hit Tous Ceux Qui Veulent Changer Le Monde (Everyone Who Wants To Change The World).
The three-minute clip has become an internet hit for the wrong reasons, with thousands tuning in to watch politicians such as Christine Lagarde, the finance minister, Rama Yade, the sports ministers and Xavier Darcos, the employment minister, making fools of themselves.
The ministers try to lip-synch with the music with an eager backing group of young UMP members, but more often than not the lips are out of synch.
