NAIROBI (AFP) — A three-legged stool and a traditional Luo oxtail fly whisk are some of the household items that could bring a new feel to the Oval Office, courtesy of Barack Obama’s Kenyan grandmother.

Quoted in the Standard newspaper Monday, she said she had hoped to bring him a traditional spear and shield from her Luo tribe when she flies to Washington on Friday with some other family members.
What a disgrace. If Abraham Lincoln were alive to see this he would’ve become a racist.

I understand that they have different beliefs in Africa but Jesus Mary and Joseph I think that everyone from the deepest darkest jungle to the planet Mars knows that you do not bring anything that even resembles a weapon on a plane! Is your opinion supposed to be in support of o’s grandmother? It’s hard to tell because of your naive perception of Africa – first of all, what makes you believe that Africa is behind the US – what you see on TV? I think you have watched too many Tarzan movies. Just because they don’t live in the same kind of houses we do, doesn’t make them any less informed or capable than us. (In fact, I’d say they are superior to some neighborhoods I’ve seen, like E. St Louis, Gary, Detroit, or N. Portland, OR) Secondly, white people didn’t come to Africa and rape it – Arabic muslims have had a much bigger impact on abusing Africa. Why do so many black Americans want to become muslim when the Arabs and their religion have been, and still are so oppressive to them, especially women? In addition, sailors didn’t just sail over to Africa, and tramp through through African villages capturing people to sell into slavery. They bought slaves from black African traders of one tribe who had captured people from other tribes. It was Africans selling Africans.
I’d say Africans are doing more damage to the US – they come here and stay years past the time their alloted by the visas, live in HUD housing, get food stamps and other services, go to college for free, benefit from minority laws which should not apply to them, don’t pay taxes, and send their money back to Africa. America is the one getting raped.
